Title: tupping
Post by: Jamie12 on November 09, 2014, 10:13:02 am
Put my tup in on the 25th of October, for various reasons he went in that early (work commitments, trying to keep him separate etc). I wasnt expecting him to tip many right away with them being ewe lambs, but he has only gotten four so far (one on 27th onf October, one on the 3rd and two on the 5th. Should I be worried he hasn't gotten anymore yet? I'm changing his crayon on Tuesday, everyone is happy and healthy. Just wonderin if I should put them into a more lush field or just be more patient

I'm told it can take 3 weeks for the ram to bring the ewes into season, so I wouldn't worry.

our girls have been slower to come in this year after putting the tups in - we think it may be the unseasonably warm weather, but this last week has been a lot colder and hey presto they're all at it!

Patience :).  They will probably all take within 17 days of when he went in, or maybe a day or so over that if he missed any on the first day.
