I've just rehomed a 7 month old collie boy. He is a farm-bred dog from working sheepdog parents, we believe her is 3/4 border collie 1/4 Huntaway.
Anyway he has a strong to obsessive interest in sheep and I'd like to get some lessons with him, with a view to a) making him more reliable around livestock and b) seeing if he will make a worker as I will get some sheep at some point!
Does anyone know any sheepdog trainers around West Lothian? Google only found me Julie Hill in Midlothian who I'm trying to get hold of, but no joy so far.
Also intersted to hear Huntaway anecdotes from other owners :) Mine woofs a lot!

Have a look on the isds website to see what contacts you can find.
Good luck

Julie is good, but very popular!

My in'laws had the same cross. He woofed A LOT as well.

Am going to try and get a session with Julie this year, but she's booked for ages! His basic obedience is coming on. He still woofs loads and has boundless energy, even compared to my other collie!

If it's a hunt away cross, try to teach it a 'shut up' command lol, or you'll have a head ache!

I'm trying to teach him that one Porterlauren! Especially for when he decides to tell us about the owl, fox or deer in the middle of the night!
This is Bay, now 9 months old (if the link works) Sennen my older collie is in the background
