That's lucky! Not often having no one in a B&B is a blessing.You gotta be joking? ::) 5 Brittany pups is enough for any woman(or man! ;)). If you don't believe me come and see them! They are leaping about like mad things. Just wait though - 7 weeks from now Sandy will be wishing she had never seen a Labrador!!!! Let alone 13 of them!
Annie, you didn't sneak one of the puppies home with you, I hope?
I'd love to come round and see them! As for Sandy, perhaps she could rope some guests into helping with them ;DYou're welcome any time - except tomorrow! With a bit of luck I should have all the family here - 2 nephews, their wives and daughters, son, daughter, son-in-law, 3 grandchildren, and my sister and brother-in-law. Now where did I put that vodka shot - I'll need it - 5 pups, 4 dogs,a cat, 3 ducks and a drake, 9 hens and a cockerel, and a partridge in a - oops I forgot to plant one :-)
just pick any two trees Annie.....and a partridge in a pair of trees......near enough ...!!! ::) ;D

I've finally got a lighter schedule for the coming week, so I'll give you a poke in a couple of days when I know when I'll be free and see if you match up.
On the family note: I will be VERY disappointed if I don't hear you answered the door to them with 2/3rd empty vodka bottle in hand!
God knows why she dosn't get up when they squeal ?
Well I could hear the pups through the serving hatch but now I have moved a put me up bed into the kitchen......I will sleep next to Isaly for now and see how it goes, I have moved the pups several times, she has loads of room in her box and sits up to clean them then lays back on top of those who have crawled under her!!! I know pigs can go into a crush but thats a bit difficult with dogs ;)Well, I may look a bit rougher for a while!!
Obtuse is often better than knowing what I'm thinking ;D
An air of sarcasm....an air of not being able to spell it either ;)you spelt it right! My spell checker says so. Right that's me off to bed, pups exercised and fed, floor de-pooped and scrubbed, all big dogs out and back in. A hot cuppa and electric blanket for me. Goodnight.
Did your person turn up to collect the puppy today Annie? I can't imagine having to deal with a whole litter of puppies - I'm struggling enough with one.No they got stuck at Berwick. Car broke down as well so they called out the AA and fortunately had a friend near Berwick they could get to who is a mechanic. They know what's wrong so hopefully will be here for lunch to day. I've got all the documents ready anyway - except the KC reg - they take 2 weeks holiday in England I believe so my registration posted on the 17th won't be dealt with yet. I'd have done it online if they didn't need the bobtail certificates!
awwwhh,forgotten about puppy noises,so sweet .the sniffs, the glug glug of milk drinking, and the smell of puppy breath,,,Do you know, it's the first thing anyone says when they hear you have puppies - 'I just love the smell of puppy breath' Why can't the WHOLE puppy smell like that? I had to apologise to Ian my vet this morning because I carried ina stinking puppy - pooed and spewd all over my car, tehn rolled in it YUK!!!
Not keen on the shredded paper just yet, it hides the poos so you stand in them and the bit's of paper stick to your shoes or feet and get everywhere, at least sheets of paper you can see the little piles or not so little piles and now we have plenty of paper for now,,,,think we will keep to that although the pups are having fun making nests...I still think straw is best, a lot of breader use it or wood chippings, I know you have to watch mites and dust but it is nice and insulating....not in the kitchen but when they are out in the dog room.....anyway, Islay did 2 big piles this morning so with her and the pups and the birds, I am poooed out for now...coffee time.Sorry, but I disagree. I've never used straw or wood chip for puppies, and never would, and I don't know any breeders who do. Pups eat everything and I wouldn't want them choking or getting poorly tums, and as you say there are mites and dust which can cause lung problems. I like shredded paper because any poos get covered in it so the pups stay clean. But I don't walk in and out of my puppy pen as it's a different type from yours. And I lift any poos I see anyway. The only thing you have to watch is staples. JMHO
The pups are virtually weaned now but should I not let Islay into the pups tonight or should I leave it, they are 7 weeks old now, 8 weeks on Thursday.....not too sure as I do not want the pups to miss Isaly too much but on the other hand, want Isaly to stop feeding as 9 pups are taking all her food even though she gets so much extra!!!Sandy, I think I did say before to take her away when they were weaned. They don't need her if they are all eating well.
P.S forgot to add, the pups are in the kitchen and Islay can only either be in or out of the kitchen!!
