Title: fodder beet replace
Post by: Hillview Farm on October 16, 2014, 03:19:09 pm
Hello all,

We planned to lamb outside this year but due to a few factors this isn't going to be possible.

So they have to come in, I fed them fodder beet last year after our dog attacks as we had to move the ewes and lambs back inside till we found somewhere else to graze. It's lovely stuff and cheap :) and at a farm sale this year I got a big root chopper at a bargain low price and had a friend refurbish it so I'm ready to go!

Does anyone know how much per head per day the in lamb ewes should be fed? I was told you can replace a percentage of hard feed and replace with fodder beet so during the run up to lambing how much hard feed to remove?
