Title: Coffee Stains Help
Post by: sokel on October 11, 2014, 06:10:21 pm
Any Suggestions for Strong  Black Coffee Stains on a Mattress ?  Had a teenage son of a friend staying while his parents where away and he has spilt a large mug of Black Coffee on his Bed. he did not mention it until he was leaving !
I don't Really want to chuck it out if I can save it as it is off an expensive electric bed and only 3months old

Vanish is good for most things, but since it has dried it'll be more difficult.  Spray it on, leave for at least quarter of an hour, then pad from outside in with a damp cloth or sponge.  Repeat till it's faded enough to be acceptable.  sorry can't be of more help.

White vinegar in water (a teaspoon to a pint) or dry baking soda on a damp cloth/sponge might also work.

Good luck

And if it's still quite unsightly turn the mattress over  :roflanim: or phone your insurance company!  :innocent:

Lemon juice, though it will only fade a dried on stain. Hope you've forgiven him, mattresses can be replaced or, as said turned over( or covered) but not friendship :) :)
