Hi all, i'm yet another newbie to the site, having just found it after looking for all poultry related stuff.
I'm in the country near Kinross with my 5 Black Rock girlies one of them is called Fred the chicken (my niece named her haha) and my 2 lovely black labs.
Hubby and myself grow some of our own veg and it's nice to have site for all things for the smallholder, hopefully will be able to pick up a few tips from folk.

Hello and welcome from Derbyshire, do all your chooks have names?
We only name the ones you can easily tell apart (Gladys, Eva, Number 6, Lenin the cockerel) and give a variety of random names to the one that happens to be there!

Hello Derbyshire em on the girlies only 3 have names my 6 year old niece calls them all Fred haha. But i have named them Moira, dog killer (she chases my 2 black labs haha) and then there's Fred of course and the other 2 are just called girlie.
They are a joy to have even when they are tapping on the back door to get in, wouldn't be without them.
What do you have by the way?

Hello Derbyshire
What do you have by the way?
17 hens, one cockerel, 7 quail, 2 goats, 3 kunekune pigs, 3 cats (one has been missing for some months but he's my baby!) 7 rabbbits, 2 guinea pigs, an empty beehive, an elderly poodle and his owner (my father-in-law!) one husband and a mad German Shepherd.
All in a large garden behind a town house
Phew... but you did ask!
I love black rocks, ours are warrens and one hamburg. I'm waiting to hear about some silkies...

Hi Angela,
Whereabouts in the Kinross area are you? We used to live opposite the Caravan site just outside Kinross, and within easy reach of Milnathort. We moved away about 4 years ago to be nearer my sister.
