Title: A to z of starting up
Post by: Davinci on September 19, 2014, 08:15:07 am
Hi has anyone seen a good or can post a good account of what is needed when starting up a smallholding. (registering the land on onwards). We are awaiting an outcome on a tender for 6 acres where we intend to keep sheep if successful. Regards.

Start here with the Intro to keeping sheep article, and follow it through page by page. It covers most of the basics including registrations:

There are some general livestock articles here that might be useful if you're new to sheep:

Finally, a large part of keeping sheep successfully on small acreage is about grassland management, there's a series here:

HTH, good luck with the tender.  :)
