Title: Can you get all white Jacobs?
Post by: Bionic on September 15, 2014, 03:22:43 pm
Someone gave me a Jacob fleece a little while ago and I decided I would wash it today. I was very surprised that there were no brown bits in it. Is it really a Jacob or have I been told the wrong thing?

It's not any kind of Jacob I've ever seen  :o  Jacob crosses come out black or small patterned black and white, and pure Jacob should be approx. 40:60 B:W.  To be sure, you'd need to do a close assessment of the fleece and compare it with a known Jacob, or ask to see the animal it came from  :sheep:

It is a whole fleece although its been dagged.  I an guessing it can't be a Jacob, based on what Fleecewife has said.
