hi
so Squirt (young muscovy drake) has settled in, thinks he's a chicken (he's next door to my growers). He's desperate for company.
Anyway, I pick up two wives for him today, one is the same age, the other is her mother-although I expect I could go for another younger one instead. How best to introduce them to each other? I have made a pen which isn't huge, I am planning on it being a night pen for them eventually and let them have the run of the place during the day. But now I am concerned its not big enough to introduce new ducks in. He's not had duck company since he was about a day/2 days old.

I would put them in together at night, ducks rarely fight like chickens to. However just keep an eye that he's not getting too umm fruity with them, if the feathers on the back of the females' necks look a bit sparse and pink then separate him for a week or so.

thanks twizzel, it all went fine-there was lots of whistling, he ran away, the older lady perched on top of the house for a bit then they all went inside to bed  his face when I let them in was a picture ;D
