Title: Sussex with red feet

Hi,
does anyone know why my light sussex have red/sore between their toes.  it's not on their legs, just between the toes. is it mite? anyone got any tips for treating...... reading on the internet suggest using vaseline?

 :chook: is the ground wet where the bird is it could be caused by the wet ground and the wind its jut an idea,
vaseline is a good barrier so you could give it ago.

My two LS have pink feet just now, but they aren't sore. It's the cold, wet and mud.  They have improved  with letting them on grass for longer periods during the day.

If it is mite you will oon see the scales crust and lift, I got a rescue cockeral that I treat with surgical spirit and vaseline for a couple of times a week for about 3-4 weeks and he was fine.

I don't really get problems with the mud and my LS as they have taken themselves into the stables with the little piggies and refuse point blank to come out in all this rain.
