we have a good 40 acres of isolated woodland and after 10 yrs we have finally seen our first red squirrel. the trees are about 25 yrs old now so its took a while for them to come. :excited: :excited:
now if the cat brings one of these in, he will be in so much trouble!

Whereabouts are you Shygirl? I haven't seen a red squirrel since I was a child. Hope they're making a comeback :fc:

we are in coastal aberdeenshire. there are red squirrels in the nearest town 8 miles away, but theres alot of arable land between here and there, and our land is bordered by a river, so im not sure how they arrived.
Iv always fancied getting some wildlife rescues squirrels released but wasnt sure if there was enough natural food here. we have rowan trees and loads of firs/pines etc amongst others. has anyone done this?
