Just been cleaning up my very mucky lambs and noticed that one has a fresh wound on her tail. She was Clik'd for a second time this year on 22nd August so it should still be effective.
I couldn't see any sign of maggots so have just put purple spray on it for now.
I am wondering if I should put Crovect on as well, or will that be overkill?
I will be checking on her again in the morning and of course if maggots do rear their ugly heads them it will be Crovect immediately.
Does this sound the right course of action?
Other than the wound there doesn't seem to be any difference in her.

That's how I'd deal with it.
Where's she got the wound from?
-
Jaykay, I did wonder if OH cut her when he was dagging although he said he didn't and she certainly didn't react as if she had been cut I.e, no sudden jumping around.
:fc: That she looks ok in the morning

Most likely she got cut when dagging - wriggly lambs are a nightmare to get done without a nip...

If the wound has straight, sharp edges (but probably pulled apart), then it's likely to be a dagging cut, if it's grazed-looking, as if the surface has been stripped off, then it could be various other things, including old or current flystrike. When searching for any maggots, look thoroughly right up under the crutch as well as elsewhere.
Wouldn't a maggot icon be brilliant, and unfortunately used a lot.

IT IS IMPORTANT to remember that every time you dag or as you do wash the bums you MUST reapply pour -on to that area as you have removed the product
