i have been watching ebay and rhe price of hatching eggs is shocking. anyone fancy 6 for £270 has anyone been brave enoughto try anything so expensive. i would be very dead if i tried.
-
and are people bidding for them at this price????
-
yep. i give up when they hit £10 its just not worth the risk.
-
Wow that's amazing, or is it just mental? Big risk there.
-
Unbelieveable isnt it!! Someone was telling me about them, that someone was selling a pair for £600 or £800!! (cant remember exact price) OMG tho!!!!
-
And they're not even REAL CHOCOLATE!

I'm sure they're very pretty, but not at that price, thank you!!
-
They have done me proud this year; fantastic results.
Aye, at more than £10 per egg, I'll bet they have!! ;D
If prices held up like that though, they'd be a pretty good investment for a breeder, though I suspect they'd make for very expensive omlettes! :o)

well I have got this special goose ....and it lays golden eggs.....£1000 and it is yours...cheap at twice the price...any takers...?, ....Oh just looked in the fridge ...I have a dozen chocolate orpington eggs....£250 ..(well there from tescos really ..but if they don't hatch no one will know anyway !!).
cheers
Russ

it would be upsetting if the hatched a few light sussex. it would be more upsetting if they were clear no refund. its a good earner fot them.
-
I've just given £10 for 15 RIR and Light Sussex eggs-thought I was doing well. OH said I was mad- she doesn't know I've given £190 for the incubator- and I dont intend owning up to it anytime soon!!!
-
Hope she isn't on this forum then Declan or you are in BIG trouble - I can see a really big chrissy pressie on teh horizon(http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/MSN_Emoticons/MSN-Emoticon-015.gif)

:chook:i saw these eggs on ebay early on in the summer but they were more than £270 they reached £360 up for a dozen with a cock bird fetching £750 and a hen £500 - £600 you can see why people are taking the chance, i would not have thought fertility is that high this time of year so it is a big risk. brings the saying more money than sense!!!! to mind. but it will be the same as all fads the high price drops when the market is flooded.
me i will stick to hatching my own eggs (not mine as in me but my hens ;))
-
i have chocklates the eggs cost me 200 and i got 3 eggs birds naw redey to lay no cock bird chance off a cock bird 1 in 8 so hard with six eggs .willing to pay 200 to 250 for a cock bird . the hens are worh 250 cock birds 300 to 750 mad .i paid 400 for my black silkies 5 hens 2 cocks 1200 pounds and yes they have won that back in 3 shows
-
and along comes mr fox and has the worlds most expensive lunch.

I have motted orps which are rare, but would never pay them silly prices. You do have a chance of getting a chocolate orp from black orps if they hold the choc gene.
