Title: Ducklings
Post by: Daisys Mum on November 22, 2009, 06:52:25 pm

Thought that I would share a photo of my newly hatched Khaki Campbells, there are 9 of them although a few seem to be camera shy.

Oh, so cute - a lovely muddy brown colour.  Perfect camouflage for when they venture outside ;D ;D ;D

Ducklings are now about 8 weeks old and out in a shed. They still have a heat lamp and I wondered when I would be able to turn it off? Also wonder when I will be able to sex them?

I can only sex them when they get their tail feathers, which seem to be the last ones to grow - curly ones at the top of the tail are drakes, and the ducks quack.  Depends on whether you're in a hurry to tell or not.
