am getting a few 8 week old hubbards monday, anyone got some, when do you kill yours and at that time what weight are they. i was going to keep them in a 9x9 movable run onto fresh ground every 2 weeks, next year may X them with my ixworths to see what happens.

Can I ask how many "some" is and is that 9x9 feet or metres? :)

some / any, 1 or a 1000 doesnt really matter! 9 x 9 feet, i couldnt move a 9x9 metre run, i want them to put on some weight so its 9x9 ft

We kill between 10 and 12 weeks.

anyone know how to you slow hubbards down so they dont fall off their feet, i know its no good just cutting down their food as a growing hubbard or cobb needs a certain level of protien to develope, i want to keep the 8, 8 weeks olds ive got now for fertile eggs in spring, i assume once adult and fed on breeders pellets that would do as the protien content is less than growers, or maybe mix in some maize grits.

I was told to mix with pellets with mixed corn 50/50 but I haven't ried it. I fed ours layer pellets this time (I ran out of grwoer pellets) and I don't think they were as good this time.
