Our lands a total mess and the Goats faces are tripping them, they are so not happy with the rain :goat: :goat:

I spent the last dry day preparing a bed for overwintering onions and garlic intending to plant them over the weekend. Today the bed is underwater but am not complaining after seeing all those flooded houses on the news tonight. My heart goes out to the folk affected.

We are Ok, we have a big connifer tree that realy needs chopping and replacing BUT it keeps a courner of the garden dry and so at lease the chickens and ducks get some dry, even still have the dust bath dusty!!!!! My OH took 2 and a half hours to get home on the train due to the floods!!!

My chicken run is flooded - 3 inches of mud right the way through. I physically put all if them in the dry shed tonight, the ducks were still enjoying the water so I left them and the white renegade LS to find their own way into the duck shed which needs a good thorough clean out. Off out for more straw tomorrow and will get that down as soon as it's dry enough to plouter through the run. I've put boards down so at least I have something reasonably firm to walk on, but it is very slippy with the mud mixed with their poo. My two new bantams are dry and cosy in the animal carrier they came in, loads of straw, and inside a dog kennel with a safe run attached. My grass is under 2 inches of water and my motorhome wheels are submerged. Ah the joys of living in the flat area of the very wet central belt of Scotland. It WILL get better, won't it?

Poor you, just put the fire on, the TV and have a nice hot chocolate xxx fingers crossed it will all dry up soon!!

An electric fire - no thanks. Wish I'd put the log burner in as soon as I moved here, must get that sorted soon.

Hope your waters have subsided!!!
-
Yes, briefly - I believe we are to expect more of the same tonight!

Isn't it awful about the police officer that got washed away trying to help on that bridge!! My heart goes out his family!! Its always the good generous helpful people that it happens too!! :(
On the news tonight on radio 1? i think? was said its been the most rainfall since records began? Shocking! :gloomy:

yes it is awful, did anyone see the footage on BBC and ITV, it's strange to think that if we still lived on the edge of Cockermouth our home would be soaked, i feel for everyone affected by the flooding
-
Hope your waters have subsided!!!
Didn't know anyone was pregnant ;D ;D ;D

Seriously though - I always wanted to live in the Lake District, but looking
at the news today, deciding to live in the West of Irelands Lake District
halfway up a mountain was a wise move!
Those poor people - the shops must be devastated, just before Christmas,
all their new stock could be ruined, and we are in a recession too - poor people
All we can all expect from this is higher insurance premiums next year folk!!!
