am I right in that I can't buy 20l? would I be able to if I got a CPH number.
-
I buy it online and it just asks me to tick a box that I know how to use it and its for commercial use. It doesn't require any proof.

That's where I buy from, 50l at a time but it lasts forever and I paint my coop twice a year with it plus sheds etc!
-
thanks both :)
-
Just ordered some from Creosote Sales and I wasn't even asked to tick a box!
Thanks very much for this recommendation. I have been toying with the idea of getting some creosote for a while so this was just the push I needed

how long to dry atm do you think? its about 16 degrees.
-
It dries quite quickly but the fumes take a while to dissipate so at that temp i would expect a couple of weeks but check it daily.
-
ah, thanks-thats not fast enough though lol.

2 days in a well ventilated location (so anywhere outside at your place) and it'll be dryish, I always find the odd edge particularly at the bottom takes forever to dry, but usually get chooks inside in 3-4 days!

I mixed with paraffin and painted yesterday and already it's loads drier than it was painting direct 100% creosote in July last year so that was a top tip from Chris M. My fascinating discovery of the day, however, was that creosote dissolves loom bands - gives some indication of how toxic it is...

I've seen them melt the plastic brackets on external floodlights! ;D
We had contractors come in one day to creosote the external walls and the next morning all the lights were hanging by the cables! :innocent:

lol Bloomer, what are you trying to say! :D
well, it would all go quicker if I could get the damn lid off the creosote :P
but pleased with new wee hen house for the price. Also think I've bagged a shed on Gumtree as well.
