That's a fair way off! I'll try and take a couple of photos this evening. They're traditional Southdowns, not the leggy sort that have imported French Southdown sires.

Hi , it was the Olde English Baby doll Southdowns l was looking at, ls that what you have?
If so l would definitely want them. We have a good livestock movement firm up here ,they have delivered sheep from England before for us. Not cheap but good service and animals cared for while in transit.
Look forward to the pics :excited: :sheep:

Never sure what Babydoll Southdowns are - I suspect some of those called that in the USA are just the little runty lambs that are poor doers! We have the traditional, short-legged types. The ones you see increasingly at shows have French Southdown blood, which I suspect has had Charolais crossed in at some point in the past. The Charolais has a very similar fleece as it also had Merino crossed in to it in centuries past, but is much leggier.
My daughter is the family photographic expert and I will be try to prod her to take photos this evening - she's presently earning pennies washing up at the local inn, so quite enthusiastic about putting her feet up when she gets home!
