Hi welcome. Have been making loads of leek soup as leeks are very cheap at present. Next carrots. I use the big bones from the pigs and chicken carcasses to make the stock for the soups. Somehow home made soup and french bread just go together.

here's one for you butter bean and bacon soup for all you pig lovers out there.... don't ask me for quantities as i just throw things in a pot, renowned for doing it. The kids say i never can make the same dish twice as i can't remember what i put in them in the first time round...
butter beans approx about 3 mugs when soaked
12 slices of bacon (i cook this first a bit)
2 or 3 carrots depending on the size
2 or 3 potatoes again depending on the size
roughly 2 litres of water
cook, season with salt and pepper add a small cartoon of single cream and blend
mmm mmmm mmmmmm
Now i need to make soup...

This is a really nice soup.............
1lb Courgettes/Marrow sliced
2 medium spuds sliced.......we use Rooster
1 Onion sliced
1 pint stock
8oz Brie (scrape off the white) cubed
Soften onion in a little oil
Add stock and rest of veg,and cook till soft
Add and disolve cheese
Puree
It would make a nice summer soup, too, with a drop of cream.
