Title: tags and moving off holding
Post by: Calfie on July 18, 2014, 11:10:17 am
Hi I am very new to owning sheep and have a few soay ewes with lambs at foot. They are all tagged from their previous holding and paperwork was all completed. I have two ram lambs that I am not keeping and wondered if I need to tag them again with my holding details. Is the paperwork enough to trace them or do they have to have multiple tags when moved from owner to owner. They all have an EID tag and identifier tag. Sorry if this is confusing but I am no longer able to think straight ???

Any animals born on your holding need your own tags.

Any animals born on another holding keep the tags from the holding of birth.

Of course all you need now is the paperwork !!!!  Although now you have to get an account with ARAMS , the paper work is still valid but don't send it to your local trading standards office. Good luck with that bit  :roflanim: :sheep:
