anyone interested in doing a secret santa ?
spend £5.00 (not inc postage)
homemade allowed
if so you need to pm me your address (and possible post up a wishlist?)
Linz
The only limitation is your own imagination for gifts .
Am thinking sign up by the 20th of Nov ? (that give a 2 and a bit weeks to get stuff together before the meet up, and 4ish week for last postage to the uk)
Last post day are 18th Dec for 2nd class
Last post day are 21st Dec for 1st class. not sure about standard parcel at the moment.
Linz
on the 21st i was gona randomly put people together (i wasn't gona pair people up as if an odd number then someone will get missed)
I gona do it that everyone gave me the presents on the day, aslong as their partner is gona be at the event (other wise i'll have to post the rest)then i had them out so the reciever doesn't know who gave them the item until it opened.
If people can send me their address if they arn't gona be at the event then i can pass the address one to your secret santas.
(does that make sences?)

my wishlist (just to give you an idea but not a must)
anything gardenning,
to pamper myself (not lavender)
sweeties (not dark choc)
I have allergies to bell pepper (and its family members)
anything handmade
-
Nice idea, I'm up for it.
Wish list - something homemade or recycled,
gardening - cooking - comfort :) :) :hshoe:
-
Me too ;D
I have no allergies or dislikes - very easy to please ;)
But no chocolate (I really don't need it !)
-
I'm up for it!
Anything homemade for me, poultry (keeping :D), gardening, I'm not choosy!
Whose address do I need and who gets mine? :D :&>
-
You need to put all participating names in a hat and draw them out two at a time - then put the list on here at the closing date. The two drawn against each other send a gift to each other.
-
Who has the hat ;D? Linz? :&>
-
Yes, but it's only Robin sized. May need a bigger one the way things are going. ;D ;D ;D
-
I am in ;D
Could we take all presents to Glasgow on the 7th, put them all on a table, and everyone
thats there and in takes a present that they did not wrap.
Then only the ones that are left need to be posted.
Wish list
Anything except food or chocolate.
Not heavy - plane restrictions on baggage ;D
Julie
-
That's a good idea. I think we might need to pair up the others though so they know who to send to.
-
I would love to join in but won't be here. Best iof luck with it anyway!
-
thats a shame
-

where will you be? If you are anywhere in the UK you can join in.
-
No I am going to Australia till the middle of March.
-
show off :-p
-
Well I was asked!
-
hehe :)
-
Have fun Sheila - I spent Christmas in Australia in the 90's - strange to spend Christmas Day on the Beach!!!
Even stranger to have a stopover in Singapore and see all their shops trimmed up with Snow and Santa ( ;D ;D )
Hope you have a grat time - take plenty of sunscreen and a big rimmed hat
Julie
-
My NON wish list:
NOT knee pads, got them last year and can't kneel
NOT sweets/chocs. don't need/want them as I have taken the pledge ;D
NOT girly stuff, I'm an overmature wummin
NOT seeds, could start a shop with what I have left
NOT books, I don't have time to read much
NOT scarves. I could start a shop with them too - how about that a scarves and seeds shop?
Ideas:
I'd love plants I can put outside in a pot - preferably flowery type - recycled from your own garden is fine
Plant pots - any size, not necessarily pottery ones, plastic is OK too.
Dog chews for my dogs (I know that's a pressie for them really but it saves me buying them)
Any home made goodies (might just relax the above 'not sweets' for this)
-

Not long now - soon be here hooray!!!!
If you haven't got a good book for your journey I can recommend some!
Julie
-
My real name is Lee, I don't do much reading, but will enjoy the journey with my iPhone and do sone "people watching"!!
I like.......dark chocolate, mini gadgets, funky socks, funky hats....loads of stuff really. There's not much that I don't like!!!
I'm easy pleased!!
-
Will we bring them all in plain carrier bags or sneakily give them to the bar person or linz
to sort out and swap ???
Is very exciting - did these years ago at a workplace, but we always ended up finding out
after christmas who the present was from. One little old lady was dead lazy, every year
she would just wrap up a fiver in a box :(
- felt soooo cheated when you didnt have a present
back in the 70's - would probably be more pleased with the money theese days :o ;D ;D
Havent been in a secret santa since the 1970's either - wow feel old now ::)
-
Julie, everyone who is taking part has been given a partner to take something for so wrap it in Chrissy paper and put on a name tag, then put it on the table when you arrive and Linz will sort it all out from there.
-
thanks Annie, Yeah give me the parcels with your person's name on it so i know who it's going to.
Santa has contacted me to inform me that parcel to Northfifeduckling is being posted end of this week /beging of next week as they wont be at the Meet up on the 7th :)

i got a great organic planting calendar and some funky seeds - it was so lovely to receive a gift from somenone who understood what i was into. I am just really worried that the parcel that i sent hasn't arrived in Ireland yet.
-
I got a set of three white ceramic plant pots. My son rescued an olive tree from ASDA (I think) yesterday which I have fallen heir to so it will fit the largest one beautifully. They look nice in my lung beside the fireplace. Thank you Santa.

Apologies for not posting sooner - I was sooooo ill after my dinner yesterday :P
Blame the lack of sleep (less than 4 hours !) too much excitement, too much food and the fact that I'm pregnant - NOTHING at all to do with the wine, honest ;)
I got a parcel with some lovely sweeties and biscuits, pot of homemade jam and some calendula and marigold seeds - is that the clue, I wonder.................... ;)
Thank you Santa ;D ;D ;D
It's so good to hear that everyone's happy with their gifts !
-
A huge THANK YOU  to Linz for having and spreading the idea. Great you took the time to manage us elves! I really enjoyed the planning, sending to someone I haven't met and opening the gifts. Just had the picture in my head of a wee snowballfight with smileys, weird (I didn't have too much to drink last night, honest!) :&>

So sorry Snoopy and Linzy. I really enjoyed opening mine on Christmas day and I its rubbish that mine to you didn't arrive.
