Title: hydrangeas

 :wave: we moved into our house last october. In the back garden was/is a hydrangea that had been cut right back. I've left it alone but we have just one flower head on it this summer. I read somewhere that hydrangeas only flower on old wood-is that true? is there anything (other than leave it alone) I can do to encourage it for next year?

Just leave it alone. I cut some right down to the ground two years ago to get rid of dead wood. They grew lots of new shots last year and are covered in flowers this year.

thanks for the reply-fingers crossed for next year, we had a super one at the last place and I have a soft spot for them.

They grow a bit like weeds in our garden here, so I hope yours does the same!
