I am down in Fife at the moment so am fine and have not yet seen the damage.

The fire was right in the middle of the peninsula and was carried over the hill by the wind.  Came within 20 meters of one house who has lost his fences and also his water supply.

Fire is always one of the things that we worry about and most people just don't set a fire when it is dry and most certainly not when it is windy.  There will now be a worry that the peat may still be smouldering so there are still some concerns from the fire department.

My bees will have lost a large amount the the Heather which is the main flow of the season, but it should be interesting next year to see if it bounces back and flowers better than the established areas.

Thanks for your concerns certainly could have been a lot worse if not for a recently built track that worked as a fire break.
