Title: NW Devon permaculture/resiliance network
Post by: MikeM on July 09, 2014, 11:00:26 am
Met up with some folks yesterday about setting up a network of likeminded souls in the NW Devon area. We haven't thought up a catchy name for our network yet, hence the clunky thread title, but will hopefully come up with something more appealing. Basically what it is, is a loose network of growers, smallholders, permaculturelists and so on based in and around the NW Devon area (we had people from Meeth to the North to North Tawton in the East and Bude to the West, though most of us were in the Holsworthy area). Yesterday was only the inaugural meeting, more getting to know each other and find out what we were hoping to get out of the network. The ideas ranged from just knowing there were like minded souls in the area (who I didn't know about, so that was good) to a work and skill share scheme to the possibility of jointly renting a market stall to sell produce or setting up a communal food processing area (those who are familiar with the Peasant Evolution Network will know the kind of thing they have).
Needless to say, we are looking for more people based in the area (though the borders have yet to be defined and will be somewhat fuzzy) to join us, so if you are interested either post contact details here or PM me (probably better that way, less prone to spammers) and I will pass them on to the person who organising it all.
Likewise, if anyone is aware of anyone already doing this in the area please let me know, no point reinventing the wheel.
