Title: Narangansett turkeys
Post by: mentalmilly on July 06, 2014, 05:36:06 pm
l have 6 narangansett poults 3 weeks old and thought l might breed some next year if they all grow up.  Has anyone kept this breed and did you have trouble with them flying?  l have read they like to fly and roost in trees but this is not a good idea where we live.  Wondered if they could be clipped like chucks to stop they flying off?  They are delightful creatures and can fly well at 3 weeks and can outrun a chicken now.  Any hints on keeping these birds would be welcome.  Thanks.
