I know it's a bit late to tell you this now - I was always told to switch off my computer during lightning storms because if you get a power surge it can fry your hard drive - happened to my Dad  ;) ::)

That happend to a very good friend of mine in Inverness-shire.  The lightening blew the phone socket out, fryed the hard drive and then rain washed their drive away!!

I never knew that. :o We had a big rain storm the other day, tornado warnings and all. Partially filled my new exercise pool since the roof isn't on yet. Oh that reminds me, I need to update my new house photos.

I Have a power Surge Protector that states on the guarantee that
if my computer frys - they will give me a million pounds  ;D ;D ;D

Dare say it will never happen - but I do still turn off in lightening storms
as I used to work in computers and have seen the damage it does  ::) :o
