Is there a list of which pig won what show - the National BPA type show. I wondered if there was a site which lists them. Any one know please?

To the best of my knowledge, there is no such compilation. Many of the shows have their own results service on their websites but these vary in terms of accuracy/usefulness - some for instance only list the exhibitor and not the name of the animal. Some of the Breeders' Clubs list major winners. Whilst I can see the advantage of a comprehensive results service, it gets quite unwieldly. Take the Three Counties Show for example, one of the major shows in the calendar.
There are 8 breed sections each with 5 classes + a group class, male, female and Breed Champions. If you report just 1st, 2nd and 3rd, that is 48 classes x 3 = 144 listings + 48 Champs (incl Reserves) Then there's the BPA Pig of the Year Qualifiers (10), Young Pig of the Year Qualifiers (4), Pairs Champs (2) Supreme Champ, Kune Kunes (3 classes + Champs) = 12. Then on the third day, there's a special Rare Breeds Pig Show with a similar number of results.
There's probably a dozen shows during the season of similar complexity plus around 30 smaller shows.
In other words, it would be a major undertaking. Anyone volunteering?

Mr. Pig,
I believe that you would undoubtedly be the only one that could
compile such a list - and I am sure you do not wish to have the
responsibility, on top of everything else ;D

Thanks for that. Is there anyway of finding out what champions a particular pig has in its lineage? Or how else do breeders source their boars for showing stock. (HOpe that makes sense)

:pig:the show cuircit for most livestock have their own show catalouge and show results however you could look up what pig/breed won the pig of the year show during the great yorkshire 2009 i was there but for the life of me cannot remember who won i know a brithish lop came 7th because we went to the show with the owner.
the shows are all about getting enough wins to be eligable for the pig of the year.
