Hi again,
just starting the process of turning our 9 acres of grass and weeds into a smallholding.
We want to plant hedgerow around the perimiter (approx 800 metres) :o and wondered if there are any grants available to help enable this?
Cheers,
Mark

I'm not sure what's currently available but I know there was a woodland grant scheme a few years back - the forrestry commision would be able to advise you further.

Hope that helps, Karen

We found a local environment ranger who gave us heaps of trees that we could grow as a hedge - beech, blackthorn, whitethorn etc as freebies. And we found a garden website that had a two fro one offer round about the same time - worth trawling the interenet maybe.

Try your local Council - in Scotalnd, they will have a Biodiversity Officer who will be able to advise.

Hubby works for a tree and shrub nursery and their website has a bit about grants. Not sure if it helps but a starting point maybe.

See if there is a local nursery you can ask for advice.
