im hoping to get 2 weaners and i have read that you need a holding numer. How do i go about getting one?
-
You need to ring your local council and register you land as a holding, they will provide you with a holding number (CPH)
-
DEFRA will tell you your local office number, it may not be that local! But they'll issue your number, and we've always found them really helpful
-
and don't forget the herd number.
-
You get your CPH number by contacting the RPA on 0845 603 7777. You must then register with your local Animal Health Office to obtain a Herd Mark. Finally, contact your local Trading Standards Office for Animal Movement Licences.
