I've got two Scots Dumpy Cockerels that I'm looking to sell or swap. :chook:
Handsome and friendly, well grown cockerels. Now about 12 weeks old. Long legged variety.
£25 each or happy to swap as are related to my Scots hens.
Rare breed!
We're based between Perth and Dundee.

Claire...........
Scots Dumpies never have long legs............it'll be Scots Greys you have.
Dumpies are dumpy.

I think you will find you have to have short and long legged types in dumpy,s just the same as you have to have short and long legged in dexter cattle its got something to do with a lethal jean when you breed two short legged types together.

Ok............I accept that.
Perhaps I should have said Dumpies shouldn't have long legs. A bit like saying I've got a piebald horse, but it's black. ::) :D

I thought the term would be interchangeable! ::) Ha ha!
Thanks guys... will post pictures and people can see for themselves.

Scots Dumpies are my favourite chickens , shame I'm not looking for any more cockerels atm :)

Claire, I take it you've not got too many girls to pass on? You replied a few months back to a post of mine, that you might... ;D :&>

Hi Claire,
Would you swap a Scots Dumpy / Grey hen for a young Silvergrey Dorking cockerel? Lovely docile bird with the unusual 5th toe. I can send you photos if you would like.
We are in Stirling. Thanks Gillian. x :)

I'd definitely consider it! I've got other Silver Dorkings. Just send me some pics!
Thanks!
