Hi,
After much sole searching we have decided to downsize and give up keeping livestock so we have four Scots Dumpy hens (two 3 year olds and two hatched here in June 2012) plus three Brown hens which have been laying for just over a year. We're not looking for any money for them, just someone to collect them and give them a good home.
We are in the Alford area of Aberdeenshire.
If anyone is interested we'd love to hear from you.
Regards
Jackie and Les

Oh .......got quite excited then, as I am looking for some more hens to join my free range flock, as old age is catching my hens up, and numbers are very low.
Unfortunately, my excitement died when I saw where you are .....just a small matter of a few hundred miles between us.
-
Sorry you got your excitement shattered by a few hundred miles. Hope you find what you are looking for soon and a bit closer to home.
-
Thank you. And I hope you find a good home for your hens.

I had thought to offer a home, but I had my first visit from a fox at 4am and am one bluebelle down despite chasing him up the paddock in my pj's :( All my birds bar one are completely free range and were up the field at the time so I don't think I should have any more after all :(
-
So sorry, Ellie. Don't you put them in the run at night any more?
-
No they're completely free range and as I was up at 4 anyway they'd have been let out and wandered up the paddock by then. I've lost 2, not 1, and it's a hellish day here in several ways so I'll back off the current topic and just wish you well finding homes. I'm thinking perhaps I might need to do likewise.
