Please can someone tell me when boars should be sepatated from their sisters.
I have just had someone ask me and I am not sure.
-
5 months maximum.
-
I'd agree with that hilarysmum!
-
unless you want loads of little :pig: :pig: :pig:
-
Thanks will pass that on. They don't need any 2 headed piglets.
-
I keep mine altogether til they go to slaughter at 5-6 months!
-
will not have that problem if you castrate at 1 week old
-
:pig: ours stay together until slaughter no problems they are gone about 5 - 6 months.
-
Thats the norm, however have 2 friends who have both had gilts get in pig to their siblings at just 5 months old.
-
As my pigs have gone I have offered to take the 2 boars at 4 1/2 months so hopefully that should be okay, if I send them on holiday at 6 months
that should still give my land time to recover before I get more next year. Thanks all
