Bought at the May Fair Exeter last week. His name is Thumper! some of the rams made over four thousand guineas!!! luckily ours didn't make that because we haven't got that kind of money :o

Wow What a beauty ! Good stocky lad
-
i know nothing about sheep (except they taste good)
nice horns though...
what breed is he?
-
Very impressive

He's a Dorset Horn.
Had to rethink his water bucket though, we have him in quarentine at the moment, so he's in the barn with another recently bought ewe for company and i had to put an extra large water bucket in for him because he can't get his horns in a usual sized one! Never had that particular problem before. Our BWM ram still only has smallish horns being a younster so it's a bit of a novelty to something with horns that big.
He is a gentleman though, so far very well behaved, we will see how he goes on when he gets with the ladies.

Very handsome!

Is he gong to star as an extra in the new Star Wars film... ;D ? Princess Leila's best friend?
But he does look gorgeous!

Very nice - he does look like a bit of a show off

i was trying to guess his age by his horns - is he 3? or older?
-
He is around 3 i think i will have to look at his pedigree. We know why he was called Thumper now! he was very well behaved until a few days ago when we went to put him in with his ladies. He " thumped" my Hubby right on the leg :o gave him a good old smack. Can't blame him really he was a bit worked up being penned next door to some ram lambs.

I bought a ram a couple of years ago from Builth ram sale, the only problem was he was very aggressive, we had to watch our backs. I remember I went to see the sheep one day and found him dead, he had fought with another ram on the other side of the fence, a Suffolk I think, thankfully he had managed to get the vast majority of the ewes in lamb before he popped his clogs.
