Title: I cant belive it
Post by: sokel on May 04, 2014, 09:11:45 pm
I am totally Gutted . 3 weeks ago I had to have Bertie my 17yr old  Mini  wire dachshund put to sleep  :'( , He had what the vet thought was a stroke and lost all use of both legs on his left side. 6 days later My Pug Rosie who was only 10 passed away in her sleep on the bottom of my bed. She was really close to bertie, they where never apart  and she really did miss him.  I really do think she died of a broken heart .
Now today I have just got back from the vets after having Bracken my 15 yr old wire dachshund (berties Son ) put to sleep after his back went. I felt it was better to let him go than put him through surgery at his age  :'(  :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

It's so sad when we lose our four legged friends, but to lose them all in quick succession must be heartbreaking .

Thanks everyone.  I always knew that at some point I would have to deal with the death of my oldies but I never once expected 3 to go so close together

Oh, how sad for you to lose all three in such a short space of time.   :bouquet:

As others have said, perhaps they all wanted to be together - and perhaps it's easier for them this way, although maybe harder for you.

So sorry to hear your very sad news, even harder that you have lost all three.

I had a retriever and a lurcher who grew up together from pups.  The retriever had a stroke at 14 years old and was put to sleep, 1 week later the lurcher had a major heartattack and died before the vet got there.  He was insistent that her heart had given out has she was pining for her companion.
