I have heard differing opinions......will 3 or 4 Guinea fowl wreck my vegetable garden?
I would like Guinea fowl as it seems they are independent spirits and basically look after themselves. I have to be away for about 5 days every 6 weeks or so and whilst we have good neighbours within reach I would still rather be independent.....hence no chickens! I have always liked the idea of "wildlife" in my land and have considered pigeons but they could be well at risk here as I am in the depths of the French countryside !
Any advice would be welcome.

If they're anything like peafowl (which of course they are), the answer's yes unfortunately!
They will look after themselves, that's true. Ours have access to a big barrel of grain with a pheasant feeder, and could look after themselves for a month if needby.
I think you will need to fence off your veg plot though - sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
