Title: Table bird feed
Post by: Eagledance on October 06, 2009, 08:15:21 pm
I am getting some table hens to finish over the winter but am not sure where to get food for them. I presume that Layers' pellets are not suitable?
Any ideas?

Ed

Do you favour one brand over another?

:chook: i feed growers then finisher but i have also added mixed corn in this year aswell it may be all in the head but the birds we have killed so far this yaer have tasted great.
back to your question about brands the finisher seems to be about the same regardless of brand so just get what your local feed merchant has on offer.
i am sure you will be really pleased with the end product :)

we can get two types ones with gm or without. also medicated or not. upto you what you choose. but remember if you have layers then you can't use the medicated stuff.

Feed them poultry grower, then finisher for a minimum of 1 week before slaughter.

We use (and Supply) Bocm Pauls Farmgate feed - If you want to buy a tonne then we can do you a good deal, with free delivery ;-)

Thanks
