Title: Pink discharge a week after lambing?
Post by: smee2012 on April 08, 2014, 08:17:58 pm
Is this normal? This is our first year of lambing so I'm not sure if this is supposed to happen or not? This ewe seems fit, happy and well in all other ways, and being a great mum to her twins. I just noticed this discharge this evening - mostly white but with a tinge of pink.

Some do tend to have a discharge for a good few day after, as long as it's not smelly and she's eating well then I wouldn't be to worried

She didn't have any at all after the first 24 hours, it's because it's just appeared that I was a bit concerned. I'll keep an eye on her and see how she goes. She's bright as a button and galloping over to the trough at breakfast and teatime so she's not off her food!

Just might be indicative of an infection so just keep those eyes peeled. Are the udders nice and squidgy?
