Title: Indulgence
Post by: cameldairy on September 30, 2009, 10:03:58 pm

I just finished reading an article on the dangers of heavy drinking,
                                         so that's it. . .
                           After today, no more reading!

I don't understand how you could even consider giving up books  :'(

Books, what are 'books'  I don't read unless it is on a screen on front of me.  I listen, radio, cd player, radio - novels, text books etc

My grand-daughter is an obsessive reader and as a result is being restricted because the rest of her work is suffering.

I only read very occasionaly and only on a long journey (not when I am driving) My concentration span seens too short and my eyesight makes it more of a strain to read and I end up wanting to sleep, now as for drink, I can do that OK!!

I love reading - on holiday, I can get through a book a day. I'd rather read than watch a film, generally. Reading "Assassin's Apprentice" by Robin Hobb at the moment (again).

I could not possibly give up my books.  I always have my nose in one...at breakfast, in traffic jams, at lunch, in the bath, the list goes on.  We have a way to go to catch up on mother in law, she has over 5000 and Mike's cousin has over 10,000. But they're very academic and prob most are text books.

I am an avid recipe book collector, never do any of the recipes but they are a great source of inspiration; also, gardening, smallholding, sustainability, build your own, animal care, and of course all my piles of fiction.

I could go on all morning...looks like I have.  :-[ I'll shut up and go do something productive now... :-[

I just love them.  If I get to a point where I'm stuck it's time to go to sleep, then next night I usually manage to solve the one I was stuck with.

As an ex manager of a bookshop obvoiusly I do love reading but a bit of advice..................Drink more than 3 glasses of wine, go to bed, then read and you WILL have to re-read every word from the night before but you will have a grand sleep zzzzzzzzz :D

If I have any more than two glasses of wine I fall asleep very quickly but then I wake up about 3 am then can't get back to sleep.  If I wake in the night and look at the clock that's it - I keep thinking 'oh, goodness, if I don't get to sleep soon I'll be rubbish in the morning' so the thought keeps going round in my head and I just doze rather than sleep properly!
