Hubby has been wanting some peacocks for ages, time is right so looking for anyone local (ish) Ayrshire Scotland. Young birds or possibly hatching eggs.
Thanks

Hiya,
We have a 10 month old male brindled peacock available just now (think Indian Blue with a few white patches - he's going to be a stunner!), plus hatching eggs in a couple of months time once they start nesting. Depending on what happens, we will hopefully have fully feathered young birds to sell from about October, though it's not usually possible to sex them until the New Year.
We're based near Stirling, so not too far away from you?
Thanks,
Womble.

Thanks Womble  have fwd details to the other half, could you possibly pm me some prices, would be happy to collect hatching eggs also (if buying older birds we thought a peacock & peahen would be best?)
Would it be easy to introduce a partner to a resident male or best to buy as a pair?
Would you by any chance sell young pullets? :fc: :)

Hiya,
Introducing a partner to a resident male or female isn't too difficult. The males are territorial in the breeding season, so unless you have a lot of space, I'd start with a pair or trio. The key thing is to have some sort of enclosed pen (e.g. Heras panels) to keep them in where they can see out, for 2-3 weeks until they get their bearings. If you don't do this, they often try to head straight home again. Indeed, one managed to make it back to my friend's house near Kinross, from its new home in Perth - they're very clever birds!!
We're happy to sell as older birds, younger birds or hatching eggs - it's up to you really. I'll drop you a PM with more details  .
