Please can anyone help! One of my girls has started to produce orange poo and has a slimy bottom ... The orange is staining the bedding and the other girls are fine. She isnt distressed, still eating and running around ... Any ideas what it is and how to treat it?
Many thanks :-\ :-\

Hello Red. Sounds initially from your description like it could be broken egg. But we have some wood shavings that go orange when wet and a hen with a digestive problem that sleeps on the floor who has a slimy orange bottom as a result. Have you checked for sour crop -soggy crop that doesn't empty overnight sometimes accompanied by bad breath? That would give slimy poos. Have you checked her vent for signs of eggshell or found any eggshell on the floor?

Thanks for the advice! There's no egg shells on the floor but she does seem to be getting better on her own! The orange slime has stopped and the poo is starting to look more normal ... Will be keeping a very close eye and thanks again
