Thought I would update you all after a worrying few days we now have 3 khaki Campbell ducklings and 2 eggs left that pipped externally last night :D so exciting, my first hatch!
Thanks all for your help and concern :D

Great news! We hatched our first eggs last week. I can see it being addictive it is so exciting (in spite of having to deal with one poorly chick who couldn't be helped). Hope the others come out ok.

I'm already planning my next hatch ;)

Planning mine also although I think I had better wait until these are out of the kitchen! It is torture for the cat watching them but not able to grab one. The kitchen is alive with busy chick sounds.

:excited: It IS addictive! For all. We have no need of more chickens this year.... But even 11 year old son was begging to get Incy out!

Great news Twizzel. For future reference you can get alarm units to tell you if there is a power cut. They are quite loud and certainly woke me up several times during our hatching in the Dordogne, where the power supply is chronically unreliable. We had a large leasure battery and 300W inverter standing by to power the incubator, which we also used when we went out. The battery would keep our incubator going for over 12 hours- plenty of time to set up the generator.
