anyone done this?what's involved-what size cage should I book for a trio of LF?

The cages will be at the sale you need to make them look nice straw saw dust etc and some greens like this . Remember the cost is haw good they look and breed .If the stock is nice you could get 100 pound a pen these made 60 pound then comition. At dingwall and thainstone i made over 100 on each of the 3 pens good stock will sell high. In a sale of 500 pens i hope to have 2 pens looking the best .Thats why its cheaper to have the best of stock /same to keep a bad hen than a good hen

What one you going to Lord Flynn - Lanark? cages I think are about £6 for the big (they are on the floor and open from the top, for lots of hens or geese/ducks) or the smaller you could get away with (front opening) which are off the floor like the usual pens at poultry show - think they're about £4. But take into account your diesel getting their and your time and you have to think if it's worth it (rarely it is unless you're into big numbers like VF). I do it occasionally as I don't get out much. :D
Like VF says, its a good idea to put in a chunk of iceberg lettuce or such like and a wee dish of water so they look like they are from a caring owner :eyelashes: and I usually put a little card which says very briefly how old they are, when they were wormed last and colour of eggs, what you normally feed them, if they are used to being housed or free range. It shows quality stock.
Hopefully that way they will get someone equally as caring as you :fc:

thanks for the tips. I really want to sell my rumpless tufted araucana. I just can't keep two breeds as well as I'd like atm and want to concentrate on the Scots Greys. There is an ad in market place :)
I am just down the road from Lanark-it was more about getting them a breeding home where they can have more space than they do currently. However, I will split them-if I can't rehome the lad then I would consider rehoming the girls either together or split them to make some space.
