Title: Large Black Pigs/Saddleback Pigs
Post by: Jim Steel on March 07, 2014, 11:50:04 am
Hi, We are on the outskirts of Perth and are looking for a few native breed pigs to supplement our current farmers market business. We are looking for either a couple of in-pig sows or some weaners, gilts and boars, that we can bring on. Would prefer pigs that are a good size and easy to do. Liked the look of Large Blacks and Saddlebacks but open to other suggestions. Don't need to be pedigree.
Would prefer not to have to travel too far to collect.
Thanks
Jim

Have you tried the Scottish Pig Keepers Association website? The info's a bit out of date but there might be contacts on it. Or BPA or the breed societies?

Lanark has a poultry and pig sale every four weeks or so and there's sometimes weaners there. And there's a RB sale at Thainstone on 3rd May - might be pigs there.
