Happy St David's day to all.

Need a daffodil thingy.

Everyone sporting their daffodils in Montgomery this morning and yep, how true about St Georges day. Children know all about St David ... taught at school but never heard of St Georges day when we lived in England. Talked about it today.

Talked about St Davids day, Georges day, Patricks day but Scotland  :o      who is it???????

I was more than amused to see the staunch Welsh around here.
we only saw three with Welsh flags out . and in windows seven with bunches of tired deep yellow daffs looking as though they had just been dumped in the first vase that was handy .

What caused my mirth is that the vast majority of the daffs will have come from around Spalding Lincolnshire ..
It seems that the true Welsh daff is quite short at 9 inches tall and it's a lighter yellow .. well that's what the nursery guy said when I brought some true Welsh daff bulbs six years ago .

My Welsh daffs have been in flower for over 10 days , the  English ones in the garden still didn't have any decent buds on them when I checked yesterday morning .

There was a bit of a celebration put on at our local market square on saturday with live music and a few rides for the kids etc. The market was on as usual plus a bit of a farmer's market and craft fair in the town hall. Lots of people came down and a good day was had. It put a bit of a buzz into the town so can only be a good thing.
