Title: African Swine Fever in Poland
Post by: Marches Farmer on February 27, 2014, 01:36:49 pm
ASF has been marching steadily westwards from Russia for a while but has now been found in Poland.  We sold a pedigree breeding gilt yesterday to a farmer from Lincolnshire (pig country) who said they were feeling somewhat apprehensive about the Eastern European workers who will come to the UK at harvest time.

We have a DEFRA-approved quarantine area and spent some time last night debating how useful it would actually be in the event of ASF and which stock we'd put in it!
