Title: Mixed hedging plants

Hi all,
I am in the process of buying some land which needs the hedges re planting. Can you recommend a good supplier that you have used.

We used Hopes Grove for a few hundred metres of mixed native hedging, mail order. The plants were excellent, as was the service:

Give us a chance! I've just ordered mixed hedging trees from Ashridge Trees http://www.ashridgetrees.co.uk/. (http://www.ashridgetrees.co.uk/.) They're very helpful. I don't know how many you want but I've ordered over 700 and got a discount on them too - always worth asking.

we used www.albatrees.co.uk (http://www.albatrees.co.uk) , mainly because the local tree group uses them, but the plants were good, grown in rootrainers and wrapped on 15's in plastic, kept well till planting out.

Thanks for the replies (must be more patient lol) The land I am in the process of buying has a hedgerow down one side but it has seen better days. It is about 200yds long so i  guess about 1000 plants would sort it out nicely.

We used a firm based in Honiton, East Devon.  Bare rooted trees supplied about this time of year.  We only had a couple of failures out of 600 (and that was down to dodgy planting by our helper ::) ).Very nice people to deal with and plenty of choice.  The only thing I would not do again is to plant willow in a mixed hedge as it grows at a much faster rate than anything else.

Well the woodland trust has come up trumps, 2 pollinator packs on order 420 trees in total, delivered in April they are plug grown and not bare root which is a bonus for me as the land purchase has yet to go through.

Used the Woodland Trust for a village tree project.  The trees came from a northern nursery and were first class.  Small plugs but A1 condition :thumbsup:
