Title: Chicks at 3 weeks now!
Post by: Connor on February 16, 2014, 12:09:22 pm
My four Miniature black silkies are just over 3 weeks now currently i have moved them into a rabbit house because the house i had was too big and there was too much musty air in it. They are on basic chick crumble so when do i move them onto another feed and what will i move them onto?

are they with a hen? or under a light?

i fed chick crumbs for 4-6 weeks and then they went no to growers - their beaks need to be big enough to manage the bigger size. then onto layers at 12-14 weeks - or finishers if they are for the table.

what brand feed are you using? usually the feed store would hold info on what age the feed is for. big brands usually have an advice line too.

We switch to Smallholder growers at 8 weeks Connor. They are small pellets so an easier change.
