I got the first Legbar Egg today such a beautiful colour, need natural light to photograph it though as the flash just makes it look white...


Another Maran Egg as well the darkest so far!!!


Today is a good day!!!

They are a lovely colour, mine was laying but all this bad weather has out her off, she is only young just over 30 weeks.

But they are such a lovely colour and a pleasant natured bird.

Yes, I quite fancy some, we just have Welsummers at the mo plus an ancient 8 year old hybrid, called Mrs Cluckerhen who still lays and comes for a bit of buttered toast in the morning.  Quite fancy some blue eggs offset against the brown and the white banty eggs.  Anyone got any to spare?

as part of project chooks to scotland a breeding group was set up it'll be too soon for eggs young from them as they are the same hatch as mine but hopefully later in the year someone should have them for sale....


likewise for the marans hopefully...

Just to add collecting pretty coloured eggs every day now from Mrs CCL they are awesome, will def be looking for some more come the spring...


the egg trays in the kitchen look great with the CCL eggs and the dark maran eggs...
