Title: orange mobile have barred all my calls and can't even ring 150

Not certain what is going on.  Fortunately my mifi is under a different contract otherwise I would be completely stuck


I have checked my account which is paid d/d each month and in any case I still have 104 minutes unused


I am about to change my mobile ph, and they talked me into a Galaxy but when it arrived it was too big for me to comfortably use so I sent it straight back.  I can only assume they have made a mistake and switched the old phone off. but now I have no way to contact them.  All the site says is phone, which I can't or visit a shop, which I can't


I have put up a couple of messages on their forum, but am not hopeful of a response
 :(

Have you tried turning the phone off and then back on. Mine sometimes refuses to make calls and that works. If not I would guess they have turned your old sim off.

I get a garbled message from orange saying


mumble mumble....  call is barred from this phone ... I am sorry ...Goodbye


I did what you said and it sprang back into life   :thumbsup: [size=78%]- i went through all the press one press two things then she said - I will connect you with an operator.   I thought great.  Then ..... I am sorry calls from this number are barred !!!![/size] >:( >:( >:(

Don't know if you are on Twitter but if you are they are @OrangeUK.  I have had much better results from tweeting these big companies than by phoning them.

Log on to twitter, search panel is top right, search for orange business - @orangebusiness I think.  Click on follow and that connects you to them. Click on their name and a box comes up on screen,  on right is tweet orange business, click on that and a dialogue box should appear where you can type a message - but keep it short - only 140 characters.

Well I have been driving all day, but I had a go last night and I dont know how I did it but I must have done something because there is this - how do I direct mail, assuming that is what dm is

Nor do I, but but I see you've asked and they haven't replied yet.  I googled -

To send a direct message via the web:
Sign in to your Twitter account.
Click on the envelope icon in the top right navigation bar.
You'll see a pop up showing your direct message history. Click the New message button.
In the address box, type the name or username of the person you wish to send a message to.

Havent got a clue what I am doing, but at least orange have seen and posted, so maybe something,  Its better that not being able to contact them at all - so thanks smithycraft  :thumbsup:






Maybe - if I can work out how to use it I will stick my travel journal on there.  :roflanim:

I am 3 miles south ov Aviemore at Dalraddy Carvan Site.  Its ok but I wouldnt mind moving on if I could plus it gets me a bit nearer to the ferry, just in case the snow decides to come in a bit more determindley


This is the pub I am heading for on Loch Ness - I looks really nice and the food has good reviews

If you can spare the time it would be great to meet you, and if you are good with twitter you can show me how to use it


I am the first one in as you pass the reception / shop.  Big stripy one sideways on.  Pm me if you can make it and I will switch the outside light on and lift the door blind so its obvious which one is Thebus - though I have to say he is rather obvious !!!!!

Well done with your twittering, DBE. I'm on it but I've never got to grips with it. That pub looks lovely. Don't suppose the sky will be that lovely blue when you get there though.

I went to a pub as a child on the shores of Loch Ness. At that time there was no visitors centre, just a glass case in the foyer with some photographs and stuff in it. My father was tracing the family history, which meant visiting a lot of graveyards because the records at St Andrews House were incomplete. He was looking for a Major Grant I think, my Great Grandfather.

After one or two hiccups this morning it seems that everything is working OK now.  Thanks very much Smithycraft.  I always though things like twitter were useless. but I have certainly changed my mind now.  Still not sure how it works but have tweeted Microsoft about their much vaunted Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse which I bought right at the end of Aug and has been playing up for a while now.


I can see there will be no stopping me on Twitter - it looks like its the only way to make an impact with these big firms.  They got on twitter for the advertising but they may regret it if folk use it to express their real opinions, rather than those which are harvested in those eternal Customer Satisfaction Polls
