Title: I hate shiny......
Post by: Fleecewife on February 07, 2014, 05:55:33 pm
I hate shiny magazine and catalogue covers.  Even with just one on top of the other they slither and slide around and do my blood pressure no good.

Top marks to DTBrown's latest seed catalogue which is nice and papery - and just as appealing as all that shiny stuff.  I'm sure the shiny finish is bad for the environment.  Something so horrid is bound to be   ::)  :tree:.

Am I on my own here?

I find shiny paper really hard to read - I suspect it scores pretty low in accessibility.

I find a lot of magazines either use a coloured type face or coloured paper and I find that difficult and tedious to read too. Must be getting old  ::)

Shiny is no good for lighting the log burner    and I would put anywhere near my compost heap with all that chemical.
But shiny magazines mop up well when somebody spills a drink at the table where I've been reading. A common occurrence with the clumsy man  or energetic boys in this house   ::)

My nan liked to use it and moaned because my mum insisted on getting soft stuff. Nan liked Izal because it had the word Medicated on it.

I use one sheet of newspaper, then the shiny stuff, I find once the newspaper is alight other stuff gets going easier.
